After a month of almost not playing we didn’t seem to have the same magic we did during the year. I think we ended up in fourth place at the end of the weekend.

That having been said, there were some really encouraging signs. Our bats were on in all but our last game. We had some awesome 2 out rallies. And we seemed to shake off the rust and had lots of fun.

There’s a practice on Friday. World Series pool play starts in just 1 week! Its hard to believe that next Monday we’ll be under the Space Needle in Seattle at the opening ceremonies.

There are only 10 days until the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 NAGAAA World Series in Seattle. Back in June, my WESA team the PumpJack qualified to be the first Vancouver D Team to compete in this event. But before we head down I5 to take part, we have some unfinished business. We finished second in the regular season by a heart breaking 1 point. This weekend the slate has been wiped clean as we head into the year end tournament.

This will be a really great warm up for us. We have had such a friendly rivalry with the other six teams in our league and I have really enjoyed the season.

I am planning to blog this tournament and make as many updates as possible from Seattle.

A couple of weeks ago my WESA softball team PumpJack qualified for the 2008 NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series representing Vancouver in the D division in Seattle. The tournament takes place at the end of August. It seems like a long time away, but the hotel reservations have been made and the time off work has been booked. It will be here in no time.

This coming weekend we are off to Portland for the Cascade Cup which will be a great warm up tournament.

Playing in these tournaments can be really expensive. To offset the cost we have started doing some fundraisers, including a couple of T-Dances. Come out and support us if you can!
